Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about the widget, integrations, and your account.
What is Buganalyst?
Buganalyst is a bug report widget you embed on your website or app. Visitors click a floating button, describe the issue (with optional screenshot), and submit. Reports are stored in your dashboard and can be sent automatically to Slack or Trello so your team can triage and fix without a separate tool or inbox.
How do I add the widget to my site?
Sign up, create a widget in the dashboard, and copy the embed code. Paste the single script tag before the closing </body> of your page. The bug report button appears automatically. No build step or npm install required—it works on any site that can load a script.
Do I need my own backend or server?
No. You can use our hosted API: we store reports and forward them to Slack or Trello. If you prefer to self-host, you can run the backend yourself and keep all data on your infrastructure.
Can I use Slack and Trello at the same time?
Yes. For each widget you can enable Slack (via webhook URL), Trello (via OAuth and board/list), or both. Every new report is saved in the dashboard and also sent to whichever destinations you configured.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan includes one widget and 100 reports per month, with Slack and Trello support. You can upgrade to Pro or Team for more widgets and higher report limits—see the Pricing page for details.
How are bug reports delivered to Slack or Trello?
For Slack, you add an incoming webhook URL; we POST each new report as a message with title, description, page URL, and a link to the full report. For Trello, you connect your account once, choose a board and list, and each report becomes a new card. You can use different boards or channels per widget.
Can I use the widget on multiple websites?
Yes. Each widget has its own embed code. On the Free plan you get one widget (one site or app). Pro and Team plans include more widgets so you can cover multiple sites, clients, or projects with separate report streams.
Is my data secure?
We use encryption in transit (TLS) and follow security best practices. Report data is stored for your account only and is sent only to the Slack or Trello destinations you configure. We don't sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
